Trolley Automatic Train Control
The team of members Mike Junod and Kevin Healy have been working to install an Automated Train Control system (ATC) for the Club's Trolley Line. The ATC relay panel for the Abington section of the Trolley System is now installed at the club. The system has been designed by Mike but the fabrication, debugging, and dressing of the wires was performed completely by Kevin. As seen in the photo below of Kevin and the ATC installation on July 27, 2014, the board looks great and is a fine example of Kevin\rquote s craftsmanship. The installation will continue for the next month or two along with checkout of the ATC functions. When completed the loop from Abington to Monroe will be completely covered by Automatic Train Control. Only the Duffield relay panel needs to be completed along with some trackwork replacement to complete the ATC for the entire trolley system. The Duffield relay panel will be mounted directly below the Abington relay panel. The Abington relay panel was a complex project due to the bi-directional single track segment next to the carbarn and the large number of routing options.
